Organization Skills Training
This program is an evidence-based intervention designed to help children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) develop organizational skills. Organization is a necessary skill for healthy functioning, both at home and at school. Difficulties with organization can lead to frustration/irritability, disengagement, forgetfulness, and misplacing of items and assignments. These challenges cause strain on the child’s relationships, hinder the child’s academic performance, and can impact the child’s confidence and sense of hope. This intervention targets organizational skills by breaking down tasks into achievable goals. Children engage in repetitive practice through homework assignments, to learn and master each skill with the support of their parents, teachers, and psychotherapist.
Demonstrated Outcomes
Studies have demonstrated that children in the OST program achieve significant improvement in organizational skills as rated by parents. These improvements include task-planning and homework completion. The treatment gains were maintained at the 3-month follow-up.

Studies have demonstrated that children in the OST program achieved improvement in their academic performance. These children also experienced improvement in their family functioning, including enhanced family cohesiveness and reduced conflict.
Studies have demonstrated that children in the OST program attain superior outcomes on measures of ADHD symptoms compared to children solely taking ADHD medication. Improved ADHD symptoms include: enhanced attention, organization, social skills, global functioning, disruptive behaviour, and parenting stress.

For students that are 12-18 years old and have been diagnosed with ADHD, or have ADHD like challenges.
*Suitability will be discussed during the initial consultation.
